To delete a stroke, dot or droplet, use the Arrow Tool to select the required element and then either choose Edit->Delete from the Edit Menu or press the Delete or Backspace keys.

Alternatively, with the Pen Tool pressed, simply click on the stroke, drag it out of the Sketch Window and it should disappear.
